Drayage

Drayage is a fee charged by service contractors at union shows. It is usually calculated on a per pound basis for each artist. Drayage is defined as: Hauling goods short distances. In trade show usage, moving exhibit materials within the confines of the exhibit hall, or the general contractor's warehouse.

Inbound only shipments pay full drayage. Outbound only shipments may get a reduced rate depending on the union running the show.

Art in Motion may prepay the drayage fees as a service to our artists. This will usually happen when there is a volume discount being offered.

Please Note: As of January 2009, Art in Motion charges an administration fee of 5% of the balance due for any drayage fees the company prepays to the service provider for the benefit of the artist.
